1914/15 Star named 086102 PTE E THOMPSON ASC.
Ernest Thompson born in Choppington, Northumberland enlisted into the Army Service Corps numbered S4-086102 and landed in Egypt on 16th May 1915. Later on in the war he transferred to the 1/4th Kings Own Scottish Borderers numbered 31840 and went to France. In July 1918 he married Florence Metcalf and went back to war. He was sadly killed in action on 1st Sept 1918 and is remembered at the Queant Road Cemetery, Buissy.
