Frederick James Woodhead born 25th June 1894 in Camden Town. He enlisted into the army on 10th Sept 1914 joining the 2/7th Middlesex Regiment numbered 2956.
After training he landed in Gibraltar on 1st Feb 1915 till 25th Aug 1915 and then to Alexandria on 1st Sept 1915 with the 2/7 Middlesex Regiment but was then sent back to France arriving on 13th May 1916 with the 1/7th Middlesex Regiment but was first attached and then transferred to the 19th London Regiment numbered 393819. On the 9th Sept 1916 he was wounded in action, gun shot wound to his left foot during the attack on Leuze Wood and sent back to the UK on 11th Sept 1916 to recover. Whilst in the UK he gained a commission in the Machine Gun Corps on 26th Oct 1917 after attending Cadet School at Bisley. He was put into the 62nd Battalion MGC and returned to France.
He released from military service on 11th Oct 1919 and last know as a clerk employed by the Railway Operating Board in Southgate, London. He died in 1974 in Hendon, Middlesex.
