Francis William Graham born 13th Feb 1882 in Oldham, Lancashire and was a Fitter & Turner when he joined the Royal Navy numbered 344274 on 12th Jul 1901 as a Armourer Crew on HMS Excellent. When WW1 came he was Chief Amourer on HMS Princess Royal and took part in the Battle of Heligoland Big ht on 28 August 1914, Battle of Dogger Bank 23rd Jan 1915 hitting Derfflinger once and Blucher twice crippling her. Next Battle of Jutland 31st May 1916 where she was a Flag Ship, she was hit twice by Derfflinger and a torpodeo went under her from Moltke but missed. HMS Princess Royal has hit 2 times again by Markgraf causing a lot of damage. After the battle she went to Scotland for repairs and Francis left her on 1st Nov 1916. He next joined HMS Royal Sovereign till 24th Jun 1918. He carried on his career in the Navy leaving service on 13th July 1923 after 22 years service.
