David Shaw Burns born 23rd Feb 1894 was a Crane Driver from Glasgow when he enlisted into the Royal Marine Light Infantry Chatham Division on 1st Dec 1914 numbered CH-573-S. After training he was sent to Gallipoli landing on 7th May 1915. He was killed in action on 20th Oct 1915 aged only 21 years old and was the Son of George Burns of 258a Airbles Road, Motherwell.
