William Edgar Grant lived in Brixton Hill, London and enlisted in the the 1st County of London Yeomanry (Middlesex Hussars) and landed in Egypt on 28th Apr 1915 and took part in the fighting at Gallipoli. He is noted as Died of Wounds on the 4th Sept 1915 which could have been from the last major fighting which took place at the Battle of Scimitar Hill on 21st Aug 1915. The grant of probate mentions he died at Sea so he was wounded at the Battle of Scimitar and seccumbed to his wounds in a hospital ship on its way to Egypt.
William is remembered on the Helles Memorial.
