1914/15 Star, British War & Victory Medals named 20480 PTE W H STOCKLEY ESSEX R.
William Henry Stockley lived in Walthamstow, Essex with his parents, William & Susan Stockley. He landed in Gallipoli on 17th July 1915 and was killed in the attack aged 25 years old when the regiment went over the top of Cape Helles on the 6th Aug 1915 and were heavily repulsed and had to retreat. His body was never found and he is remembered on the Cape Helles memorial.
