George Donald Taylor was a carpenter when he enlisted into the Royal Engineers numbered 26823. He landed with them in France on 3rd May 1915 and rose to the rank of Transport Corporal and then Assistant Quartermaster. After WW1 he re-enlisted back into the Royal Engineers earning his LS&GC and MSM before WW2. He gained a commission in WW2 and served as Assistant Commandant of the Army Apprentice School in Chepstow.
Entered France 03/03/1915 as a sapper. Commissioned Major 03/03/1953. M.S.M. Awarded under the terms of Army Order 98 of 1953, without annuity. Served as an instructor at the Army Apprentices School, Chepstow. Offered with research
