Robert James Brooks enlisted into the 1/6th Welsh Regiment numbered 1188 on 23rd Aug 1910. He attend the annual camps in 1911-1914 before landing with them in France on 28th Oct 1914 fighting through to 13th Jan 1916 when he was finally time expired. He should have been sent back in Aug 1915 and had asked several times but for some reason he had to waiting till Jan 1916. He was finally discharge on 3rd Feb 1916 after having enough of war.
