Charles Blake lived at 5 Cobham Street, Luton, Bedfordshire and enlisted into the 3rd Bedfordshire Regt numbered 3/6097. He was sent to France with the 1st Battalion on 11th Apr 1914 and took part in Hill 60, where he was wounded in the Left Arm. On recovery he took part in the Ypres, Somme, Arras and Cambrai actions, surviving the war and being demoblisied as Sgt.
