James Warren born 1841 in Monkton Combes, Somerset enlisted into the Northumberland Fusiliers numbered 709 on 27th Dec 1859 and spent 13 1/2 years based in India. He served in the Afghanistan Wars and earned 4 good conduct badges until his retirement due to ill health in Jan 1880 after 20 years service.
