      Ashantee Medal no clasp named A PECKHAM STOKER HMS BITTERN 73-74 & Egypt clasp Alexandria 11th July named A PECKHAM LG STOKER HMS BITTERN.


      Alfred Bittern born 7th Nov 1849 enlisted into the Royal Navy numbered 21101 on 2nd Nov 1871 as a Stoker. His first ship HMS Asia till 1st Nov 1817, HMS Immortality till 12th Oct 1872, HMS Asia again till 3rd Apr 1873 and renumbered 51430, HMS Argus till 19th May 1873 and then HMS Bittern till 27th July 1888 as a Leading Stoker earning the Ashantee and Egypt Medals. HMS Pembroke till 26th Nov 1886, HMS Monarch till 10th Nov 1888, HMS Pembroke till 18th Mar 1890, HMS Victoria till 19th May 1890 and finally HMS Vivid till pensioned ashore on 5th July 1990.
