      Ashantee Medal no claps named T H BURLEY LG SEAMAN HMS COQUETTE 73-74.


      Thomas Hynes Burley born 10th Dec 1837 at Nodbury, Dorset enlisted into the Royal Navy on 12th Jan 1855 as Boy 1st Class numbered 18042. After training he served on HMS Implacable from 13th Jan 1855 till 20th June 1857, HMS Boscawen till 20th Apr 1859, HMS Conqueror till 17th Feb 1862, HMS Bacchante till 3rd Aug 1864, HMS Achilles till 23rd Dec 1865. Change of number to 35739 as a Leading Seaman.

      HMS Lindertill 24th Jun 1867, HMS Imm? till 1871, HMS Coquette till 28th Feb 1875 change of number to 73074 and earned the Ashantee Medal on her. HMS Swiftsure till 2nd Apr 1875, HMS Royal Adelaide till 13th May, now a Petty Officer Leading Cook and finally HMS Achilles till 15th Mar 1876 when he was pensioned ashore. 21 years service.
