Ashantee Medal no clasp named W DALLEY PTE RM HMS AMETHYST 73-74.
William Dalley born 19th Apr 1857 was a labourer when he enlisted into the Royal Marine Light Infantry numbered 516 in Taunton. After training he served on HMS Amethyst to earn his Ashantee Medal and then HMS Seagull during the Egypt campaign to earn his Egypt Medal no clasp and Khedives Star. He was not entitled to a LS&GC as spent time in the Cells a few times. He finished his career in the Marines on 23rd Mar 1896 after 29 years service and still a Private.
