Ashantee Medal no clasp named N DORAN ORD HMS RATTLESNAKE 73-74.
Nicholas Doran born on 15th May 1853 in Newtonards, County Down enlisted into the Royal Navy numbered 3727 on 6th Dec 1867 as Boy 2nd Class and his first ship was HMS Royal George. Sadly his service history is partly missing and next we have him serving on HMS Flora from 1st Jan 1873 as an Ordinary Seaman till 31st Mar 1873, HMS Rattlesnake till 15th Nov 1873 where he earned his Ashantee Medal. Next HMS Challenger as an Able Seaman till 12 Mar 1876 when he leaves the Royal Navy.
