      Ashantee Medal no clasp named G MASKELL ORD HMS DECOY 73-74.


      George Maskell born 19th May 1855 enlisted into the Royal Navy numbered 16028b on 6th May 1871 as Boy 2nd Class. His first ship was HMS Cambridge till 9th Nov 1872 by now a Boy 1st Class. Renumbered to 69918 on HMS Decoy as Ordinary Seaman & Able Seaman till 28th Feb 1877 where he earned his Ashantee Medal. HMS Excellent till 14th Jul 1879, HMS Bacchante as Leading Seaman with the two eldest Son of the Prince of Wales (future King Edward VI) onboard till 31st Aug 1882 traveling with the Princes to the Mediterranean, West Indies, South America, South Africa helping with the First Boer War, Australia, China and Japan. HMS Excellent till 20th Mar 1883 and last HMS Hector till 19th May 1883 when he was put ashore.

      Comes with service papers and roll.
