Daniel Curran born 15th Apr 1836 in Kerry, Ireland enlisted into the Royal Navy as a Ordinary Seaman 2nd Class numbered 29842 on 15th June 1856. His first ship was HMS Implacable till 2nd Jun 1857, HMS James Watt till 23rd Apr 1857 as ordinary seaman, HMS Boscawen till 14th Sep 1860 as a able seaman, HMS Cambridge till 14th Dec 1861, HMS Devastation till 9 Jun 1864.
HMS Cambrodge again till 19th May 1865, HMS Frederick Williams till 26th May 1868 now a Cox, HMS Cambridge again till 8th May 1869, HMS Liverpool till 27th May 1870 as a 2 Captain ? Sail, Two ships we cant make out. His number is changed to 52248. HMS Cambridge again from 1st Jan 1873 as a Petty Officer 1st Class and finally HMS Simoon till 20th Jul 1876 when he was pensioned ashore earning him the Ashantee Medal as a Gunners Mate.
