      British Empire Medal, (Military) GVIR, 1st issue named PO STANLEY D KIRBY C/SSX 21819, Naval General Service Medal clasp Palestine 1936/39 named C/SSX 21819 S D KIRBY O SMN RN, 1939/45, Atlantic clasp France & Germany, Italy clasp North Africa 1942/43, Italy Stars, Defence Medal all unnamed as issued & EIIR Royal Naval Reserve Long Service & Good Conduct Medal named SSX21819 S D KIRBY BEM CH B 26129 PO RFR. Entitled to an Artic Star.

      Stanley David Kirby born 19th Oct 1920 in Deptford, London joined the Royal Navy 26th July 1937 during WW2 and was awarded the BEM LG 1st Jan 1946 for services on HMS Zest during WW2. HMS Zest was an escort destroyer and went on several Russian convoys, notably JW64, JW66 & RA66, as well as evacuation of civilians off the island of Soroy. Discharged 12th Jan 1946, rejoined RFR 6th Jan 1953 and awarded his LS&GC 17th Dec 1953 after 15 years service. Discharged again 31st Mar 1954.
