British War Medal named LIEUT G WADDELL. Entitled to a pair no other Lt G Waddell.
George Waddell was gazetted a 2nd Lt on the 11th Jan 1916 in the Argyll & Highlanders before transferring to the 6th Battalion Royal Highlanders (Black Watch) on 9th July 1916. He went to France on 21st Aug 1916 from the Depot. He was sent back to the UK sick on 23rd Dec 1916 and made Lt on 1st July 1916 before rejoining his unit in France on 11th July 1916. He is noted as being severely wounded while filling grenades on 21st July 1916 at Ypres and sent back to the UK. His war was over but he was appointed Adjutant for the City of Glasgow Volunteer Regiment in Oct 1918 and temp Captain till he retired in 1921.
After the war he is noted as being the Club Secretary for the Royal Portrush Club.
