British War Medal named LIEUT M G BARNETT.
Maurice George Barnett born 14th Nov 1891 in Hambleden, Bucks and live at Mill End, Henley-on-Thames with his father who was a flour miller. He was employed as a Stockbrokers Clerk when he enlisted into the Honourable Artillery Co numbered 402 then 5558 on the 6th Aug 1914.
He landed in Egypt on 21st April 1915 in B Battery HAC as a gunner before being promoted to Driver, then Driver Acting Bombadier. He was sent back to the UK on 29th May 1916 as he was accepted for a Commission on the 7th July 1916. He joined the 61st Brigade Royal Field Artillery in France and survived the war. He left the army on 18th Nov 1919 and then resigned his commission on 18th March 1920 still living in Mill End, Henley-on-Thames as a Lt.
