British War Medal named 49733 PTE J H STANLEY MANCH R.
John Henry Stanley was a 25 year old from Failsworth, Lancashire when enlisted into the 19th Manchester Regiment numbered 49733 in Mar 1917. After training he landed in France on 4th July 1917. He transferred to the 17th Battalion in Feb 1918 and is note of him missing in action dated 22nd Mar 1918 at St Quentin. He was captured and made a prisoner of war, being repatriated on 10th Jan 1919.
