British War & Victory medals named LIEUT E M FRASER.The group is in mint condition comes with original boxes and envelopes for the medals together with a full size and miniature oakleafs.
Eric was the son of the famous Scottish Sir Thomas Richard Fraser a leading light of British Medicine in toxicology. He was born in 1897 and lived at Druimbeg House in Acharacle, Argyll.He gained a commission in the 8th Seaforth Highlanders and was made a 2nd Lt dated 14th August 1915. He landed in France on 8th July 1916 and was with the regiment on 25th July 1916 assigned to C Coy.He is mentioned in the war diary on 4th August 1916 helping with the transport when marching to new billets.On 11th September 1916 he is noted in the war diary as being Wounded.He was Mentioned in Dispatches in the London Gazette on 21st December 1917 and again on 7th August 1919 when he relinquishes the rank of Acting Capt on 30th June 1919.
