China Medal 1900 no clasp impressed naming J G SMITH GUNR RMA, 1914/15 Star, British War & Victory Medals all named RMA6087 GR J G SMITH .
James George Smith bborn 5th July 1877 in Soho London and a former Clay Pipe Maker joined the Royal Marines in June 1896 as a Private, then Gunner 2nd Class and finally Gunner. Served on HMS Magnificient, then in the North West Fort, Taku in 1900 and then on to HMS Ocean, next was HMS Europa, Switsure & London. HMS New Zealand 1809 and HMS Sparitate 1912. His WW1 service has naming of ships but difficuly to work out who? Retired in 1919 but no mention of Long Service & Good Conduct Medal.
