All mounted on a bar for wear. Comes with the officers ribbons for wear on a bar. Also 2 original photos receiving DSM at Buckingham Palace, letter from his baptist church on the award, picture of him in uniform.
John Albert Kellar born 8th Jan 1997 and becomes a Fellow of Royal Institute of Marine Engineers. Joins the Royal Navy in 1918 as an engineer. WW2 he was on HMS Terror when on 22nd Feb 1941 she was attacked by German JU88 bombers and the ship was badly damaged. The order to abandon ship due to flooding was given at 22.00 and the captain and ERA3 Kellar stayed onboard. Towing has attempted by HMS Fareham and HMS Salvia but damage was deemed irrepairable and she was scuttled 15 kms from Libya on 24th Feb 1941. John was made a Lt on 1st Apr 1945 and Lt Commander 1st Apr 1953 before retiring in Nov 1959.
