      Egypt Medal no clasp named A DONALD AB HMS “ACHILLES. Some edge bruise & light pitting.


      Alexander Donald born in Arbroath, Forfar on 27th Jan 1859 and enlisted into the Royal Navy on 27th May 1876 for 10 years as a Boy 1st Class. He served on HMS Auroa for 2 days, then HMS Revenger till 23 June 1876 when he joined HMS Iron Duke and became an Ordinary Seaman 2nd class till 17 July 1877. He next joined HMS ??? till 28th Jan 1878 by now an Ordinary Seaman.

      He joins HMS Royal Adelaide till 14th Mar 1878 when he joins HMS Invincible till 24th Nov 1879 when he goes back to HMS Royal Adelaide till 7th Jan 1880. He is now on HMS Cambridge till 31st Aug 1880 when he goes back to HMS Royal Adelaide till 3rd Sept 1880. He is now on HMS Achilles and gains his Egypt Medal and stays with her till 27th Nov 1883 when he is an Able Seaman. He is back to Royal Adelaide and leaves her on 7th Dec 1883 as Invalid Out at Plymouth.

      Approximately 43 no clasp medals awarded to H.M.S. Achilles.
