      Egypt Medal no clasp named 49/775 PTE G PARRISH 1/BERKS R, Khedive’s Star 1882 unnamed as issued & Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal named in small letter reverse 775 PTE G PARRISH BERKS R. Pitting from Star, nearly very fine.


      George Parrish born 1845 in Eastwick, Ware, Hertfordshire was a 23 year old labourer when he enlisted into the 49th Foot numbered 775 on 6th Mar 1865. After training he was sent to the East Indies from 25th Aug 1865 to 13th Jan 1875, they came back to England till 8th Mar 1881 when they were sent to Gibraltar till 7th July 1882. Then onto Malta till 5th Aug 1882, they were sent to fight in Egypt till 7th Nov 1882 when sent home. He was discharged on 16th Mar 1886 after 21 years and 9 months service.
