Marine Jeffery served with 40 Commando, Royal Marines during the Falklands War, and was wounded in action on 27th May 1982. As dusk closed in, two Skyhawks screamed without warning over San Carlos Settlement and dropped parachute-retarded bombs. They drifted slowly towards 40 Commando’s position and exploded, killing two men and wounding three others.
