Joined Navy in March 1915 and first ship after training was HMS Endymion until March 1918. He was involved in the landing at Gallipoli and the bombardments. Ship hit several times by Turkish artillery and attacked and bombed several times by enemy planes.He stayed in the Navy until 1928. LS&GC medal issued 1931.
