Robert was numbered 2524 Royal West Kent and was renumbered 200904. During WW1 he earned the BWM in India with the 1/4th Royal West Kent as a L/Cpl. He carried on after WW1 and stayed in India and eventuallytransferred to the Royal Army Pay Corps numbered 7658163.
