Clarence Victory Jelfs born 9th Oct 1894 in High Hoyland, York and was in the Post Office and the 3rd East Anglian Field Ambulance when he enlisted in 5th May 1915 into the Royal Army Medical Corps 2538 then 88304. After training he landed in France on 6th Nov 1916 until 12th Mar 1919. He was discharged on 31st Mar 1920 from No 19 Field Ambulance. In WW2 he was a Senior Staff Officer with the Ministry of Aircraft Production receiving his MBE LG 15th June 1945. He died 7th July 1961 aged 67 and was a retired senior executive officer of Ministry of Supply on the Isle of Wight.
