James William Curry born around 1875 in Seaham, Durham and joined His Majesty Office of Works becoming a Deputy Controller of Supplies, he was awarded the 1911 Coronation Medal. He joined the Special Constabulary as Assistant Commander during WW1 which policed the department so men could be released and made few public appearances. He was awarded the OBE LG 7th June 1918. Later he was awarded the CBE LG 3rd June 1925 as Late Controller of Supplies for His Majesty Office of Works. He watched the 1937 Coronation from Piccadilly Hotel as we have a ticket. He died on 4th Mar 1950 in London.
James had a Son called Stanley Curry who when WW2 came joined the RAOC numbered 14294367.
