Queens South Africa Medal clasps Tugela Heights, Orange Free State, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal & Laings Nek named 1921 PTE A BONE DEVON REGT.
Adam Bone born in 1868 in Medshead, Alresford, Hampshire when he was 19 years old enlisted into the 2nd Devonshire Regiment numbered 1921 on 6th Dec 1887. After training he was sent to India on 17th Dec 1889 and took part in the Indian campaign in Burma earning himself the IGS Burma 1889-92 clasp. He left for the UK on 2nd Dec 1895. He went to the reserves but was recalled on 7th Oct 1899 and sent to South Africa on 20th Oct 1899 till 17th Jan 1901. He took part in the Orange Free State, Transvaal, Tugela Heights, Relief of Ladysmith and Laing's Nek campaigns. He left the army on 20th Jan 1901 after 13 years service.
