      Thomas Henry Jones born 1876 in Suffolk but lived in Swarby, Lincolnshire as a Groom. He enlisted into the Suffolk Regt numbered 4027 in 1894, then transferred to the 1st Lincolnshire Regt. Saw active service in Sudan and discharged in 1902 after being court-martialed. He enlisted again in summer of 1914 with the 1st Battalion Lincolnshire Regt numbered 8331 and landed in France on 22nd Oct 1914. He was wounded in action 1st Nov 1914 with gun shot wound to Groin in fighting around Kemmel and was sent back to the UK. He returned to France on 7th Apr 1915 but ten days later dislocated his knee but returned to active duty on 17th Apr 1916 until admitted to hospital in 16th May 1917 with fever and sent home. 6th Mar 1918 posted to 409 Agricultural Co (Lincoln) Labour Corps numbered 531877. Survived the war and discharged 29th Jan 1919.
