James Scot Dewar was born 1893 in Glasgow. He joined up in January 1910 with the 2nd Lowland Field Ambulance RAMC Territorial. He was sent to Gallipoli in June 1915, then to Egypt and Gaza and finally to France in April 1918. The award of the Medaillie dHonneur en Bronze avec Glaives was recorded in the London Gazette on 18th August 1920. A rare award of only 793 issued to all regiments in WW1.
