Florence Mary Percival born 14th Nov 1891 born in St Cleopas, Liverpool and enlisted into the Queen Alxendra's Imperial Nursing Service in June 1916 and spent WW1 training to be a nurse. She was appointed a Staff Nurse in Dec 1922 and was made Sister in Aug 1928 when she was sent to India. While in India she was awarded the IGSM clasp Burma 1930/32. She came back to the UK in 1933 due to being sick and stayed till Jan 1937 when she went back to India where she served in Burma. Back to UK in 1941 as a Acting Matron and made Matron in 1942. Awarded the Royal Red Cross First Class LG 8th June 1944. Awarded MID LG 10th May 1945 and again LG 8th Nov 1945 NW Europe and finally MID LG 7th Jan 1949 for Palestine 1945-48. Working in foreign climates eventually took its toll and Florence retired sick Dec 1948. She died Oct 1976 in Hastings, East Sussex.
