72 Medals were awarded to the Durban Mounted Rifles, all of them with the '1879' clasp. Only 2 medals to Trumpeter. Raised in 1875, the D.M.R. accompanied Colonel Pearson's Southern Force in the invasion of Zululand in 1879.
