Stanley Adam born in Hong Kong on 19th Mar 1873 was a 27 year old Brewer when he enlisted into the Imperial Yeomanry with the 65th Coy (2nd Leicestershire) 17th Battalion numbered 11984 on 26th Feb 1900. After training he was sent to South Africa on 6th Apr 1900 till 24th Jun 1901 taking part in the actions in Cape Colony, Rhodesia and Orange Free State. He stayed in the Army till 1st July 1901. Stanley was in the first contingent sent out to South Africa.
