      WW1 1914/15 Star, British War & Victory Medals all named 188951 A H PARKINSON PO RN.


      Arthur Henry Parkinson born 7th July 1879 in Lincoln was a farm servant when he enlisted aged 17 years old into the Royal Navy numbered 188951 as a Boy 2nd Class. When WW1 came he was onboard HMS Glory till 2nd Oct 1915, she joined the 8th battle squadron to escort Canadian troops in Oct 1914, Then joining the north American and West Indies Station as Flagship. In Jun 1915 she joined the Mediterranean fleet to cover the Suez canal, and Egypt. Next he joined HMS Europa II, she was the flagship stationed off Mudros till 31t Dec 1915 when he joined HMS St George a submarine depot ship when he was on K2 a submarine till 26th Oct 1918. He left the Navy on 17th Nov 1919 and was awarded a LS&GC on 4th Apr 1917, he served 23 years but died on13th Jun 1925.
