Alfred William Shelley enlisted into the Loyal North Lancs Regt numbered 8819 and landed in France with the 1st Battalion on 12th Aug 1914. He is listed as being awarded a Silver War Badge and discharged due to wounds on 26th May 1915. He receive a pension when living in Herne and died on 28th Oct 1968.
