William John Neal born 1886 was a 29 year old groom when he enlisted into the 1st Grenadier Guards numbered 26867 on 3rd Oct 1916 and after training landed in France on 2nd Mar 1917. His service records shows he was wounded in action on 17th Sep 1918, he stayed in France till 8th Mar 1919 and then he was discharged on 31st Mar 1920.
