Harold Smith from Goole enlisted into the Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry numbered 18179 and after training landed in France on 21st May 1915 with the 6th Battalion. He transferred at some stage to the Machine Gun Corps numbered 20061 and was serving with the 154th Company when he was awarded the MM LG 23rd Feb 1918 for actions at Passchendaele or Cambrai during Oct to Dec 1917. He survived the war.
