Harry Oxborough born 9th Oct 1890 in Grimsby and was a Cooper when he enlisted aged 25 years old into the 3/5th Lincolnshire Regt numbered 3970 and then 241064 on 10th May 1915. After training he was sent to France with the 1st Battalion on 27th Oct 1915. On the 26th June 1917 he was sent home due to being gassed in the trenches. Once he recovered he was sent back to France on 2nd Feb 1918 with the 1/7th Battalion. He was fighting in the Battle of Amiens 5th Sep 1918 when he was awarded an MM LG 24th Jan 1919. In Oct 1918 he was wounded in action gun shot wound to leg on 20th Oct 1918 and eventually sent home. The war was over for him. He died on 28th Aug 1965 aged 74 years and is buried in Scartho Road Cemetery, Grimsby.
