Alexander Motherwell Young was from Kilsyth, near Glasgow when he enlisted into the Highland Light Infantry numbered 30235. He landed in France with the 18th Battalion and then transferred to the 16th Battalion. He was awarded an MM LG 23rd July 1919 for the Advance to Victory in Nov 1918.
