WW1 Military Medal named G-62338 PTE W B CORNISH 9/R FUS.
William Benjamin Cornish born in St Luke, London in 1890 to William Ramshire Cornish & Emily Flint. He was 1 of 4 children and before the war he was a warehouse man. He enlisted on 11th Nov 1915 into the 9th Royal Fusiliers numbered G-62338 and landed with them in France in March 1916. He won the Military Medal LG 11 Feb 1919 for the Battle of Amiens and was discharged from the army on 20 Jan 1919 due to wounds aged 29 years old and receive a silver war badge numbered B1720076.
He died aged 86 in 1976.
