WW1 Military Medal named S-43243 SJT J CRUIKSHANKS 2/SEA HIGHRS. Note spelling slightly different.
John Cruickshank from Glasgow enlisted into the 2nd Seaforth Highlanders numbered S/10348 and landed in France on 21st July 1915. He transferred to the 8th Battalion and then to the 2nd Dragoon Scots Grays numbered 3773 and then back to the 2nd Seaforth Highlanders numbered S/43243 and then the 9th Battalion and then back to the 2nd Battalion. He was awarded the MM around Oct 1918 noted in the LG 17th June 1919. He finally transferred to the 47th Royal Fusiliers numbered GS/140648, they were a burial company after WW1 and he left them in 1920. There is a note on his mic confirming a mention in dispatches?
