Henry Thomas Houe was living in Maidenhead and was a gardener aged 21 years old when he enlisted into the Berkshire Yeomanry numbered 2802 on 16th Aug 1915 at Yeomanry House, Reading. He landed in Alexandria on 17th July 1916, 1 Aug he had caught a fever but rejoined on 9th Aug before catching malaria on 3rd Oct 1916 till 20th Dec 1916 when he rejoined.
On 15th Jan 1917 he was attached to the 17th Machine Gun Squadron before being transferred to them on 7th March 1917 numbered 96069. He was very sickly as he spent lots of time in and out of hospital. He was finally sent home from Port Said on 7th May 1919 and then released.
