British War & Victory Medals named 2234 CPL A W COLLARBONE BERKS YEO.
Alfred William Collarbone born on 18th Jul 1895 in Battersea, London. Lived in Clewer, Windsor in 1911 as a 15 year old Dairyman Assistant and joined the Berkshire Yeomanry numbered 2234 at the headquarters in Windsor. During WW1 he was probably sent to Palestine in 1916 and then at some stage transferred to the 2nd Royal Berkshire Regt numbered 37270 rising to the rank of Lance Sgt and surviving the war. In 1921 he was working for the Railways as a Engine Fireman and during WW2 as an Engine Driver Heavy Work now living in Eastbourne.
In 1936 while living in Eastbourne he was charged with exposing himself to a married woman but was found not guilty.
