British War & Victory Medals named R-38247 PTE W PARKER K R RIF C.
William John Parker born in Hendon, enlisted into the 16th Kings Royal Rifle Corps numbered R-38247 and landed in France. On 20th May 1917 the battalion advanced towards the enemy near Croiselles and Pte Parker was wounded and listed as missing in action. A Red Cross enquiry was made in July 1917 and he was not found, but became listed as Died of Wounds in Battle, but never recovered. He is remembered on the Arras Memorial.
